We asked Chin Up Chin Up to write us a blog about whatever was closest to their hearts. They came back with…baseball. Read bassist Jesse Woghin’s opus, while it snows in New York. Catch their amazing new video for “This Harness Can’t Ride Anything” at the bottom.
Hello, interworlds. It’s finally here. Opening day. I’ve decided to mark what is arguably one of my favorite days of the year with the posting of my first ever blog.
This 30-hour day got off to a brilliant start when your NY Mets exacted a little bit of revenge on the defending world champion St. Louis Cardinals with a 6-1 opening day eve drubbing. Ageless Tommy Glavine got win #291 of his careerto start the year off right, backed by excellent defense — including four double plays — and clutch-hitting from aging homies Paul LoDuca, Carlos Delgado and Shawn Green (Happy Pesach, Shawn! Matzoh balls on me this year!).
More after the jump…
Sadly, Jeremy’s Chicago White Sox are currently getting the living snot beat out of them by their rival Cleveland Indians, 11-3 in the 8th, but this is probably not bothering Jeremy very much right now as he is currently trolling the beaches of Jamaica, far from the reach of baseballs and interwebs. Everything irie for him for the time being, but I fear for Jose Contreras and his team’s chances this year. Ugly.
Ok, I probably should do some work or check on my fantasy baseball stats (probably the latter - nerd), so I bid you adieu. Dream of animated snowglobe worlds, creepy crawlies and hitting for the cycle…
